I am a WRITER!

 

I am a writer. Writer write.So make time for it everyday. Set realistic goals. Embrace the extasy of writing. Read. Follow your heart, not the market. Don't just start a stories. Finish them. Dream big. Learn the rules. Follow the rules. Break the rules. Put your ego in your back pocket and sit on it. Writing is  journey, not a destination. Enjoy the scenery. Remember, you are the master of your inspiration, not it's slave. Set your stories free. Send them to the world. Build lifestyle that nurtures and supports your writing. Love what you do!

 

I love writing because each story is like opening a golden door to the unknown.

I love writing because it's slipperiness, it's unpredictability, the way it has taught me about life, death, and people.

I love finding a new voice to write in. At first this voice is just a whisper, a shimmer inside a brain but then the whisper grows and gains a power all of its own and then you hear the voice even when you're washing the dishes or drifting off to sleep.

I love discovering new words, new characters that don't come from me but from somewhere out there, way out there from some place out of my control.

I love the way characters speak to me and tell me what they want. If one of your characters tells you that he has to die for the sake of the story, as happened in Little Paradise, then you have to kill off even if it hurts so much.

I love the way writing digs up the past.

I love trawling the internet for a minute piece of information and coming out with so much more.

I love the way writing helps you sort yourself out; want to get rid of emotional baggage? Then write about it. Burden your characters with it.

I love writing because I have met so many kind and wonderful people through it.

I love writing even when it doesn't love me.

 

Only writer will hold conversations between people that don't exist, We don't talk to ourselves, we talk to the people we created from nothing.

Always keep a notebook handy. You never know when inspiration will strike.

A writer never has a vacation. For a writer, life consists of either writing or thinking about writing.

Every secret of a writer's soul, every experience of her life, every quality of her mind is written large in her works.

You don't write because you want to say something, you write because  you have something to say.

If there's a book that you want to read but it hasn't been written yet; then you must write it.

These are two kind of writers; those that make you think and those that make you wonder.

The secret of good writing is to say an old thing in a new way or to say a new thing in an old way.

This one may seem slightly obvious but it's necessary to weed out people who want to be a writer but haven't actually written anything. As a potential author, you've amassed a portfolio of short stories, articles, poems, anecdotes, novel outlines or other samples. Your collection of work indicates commitment to your craft.

Excellent writing is all about fresh angles. There are virtually no new subjects, only new ways of looking at them. Your ability to see thing, people or situations in a different way  catapults your writing past ordinary.

Turn off the television. If you think you can write in front of the tv, you are just kidding yourself.

Be strict on yourself. Sit down and tell youeself you will write for 20 minutes or 30 minutes or an hour. Actually do it.

Just keep going. Not everyone will hit their 50k target but that doesn't mean they've failed at all. By carrying on until the end of the month you have achieved an incredible feat no matter what your word count. The only true failure is giving up.
